These trails often require high clearance 4WD vehicles to get to the trail head. The snow remains in the alpine until around early to mid July. A map and compass, spare clothing and waterproof jacket should be brought.

The Trails are split into two geographical sections

West Kootenays - West of the Purcell Divide

East Kootenays - East of the Purcell Divide
